UPD NOT DONE DEAL

I cannot believe the number of calls I am getting about the "secret" meeting of the city council. There was NO secret meeting and the city council did not pass the UPD motion. The motion was presented to the city council, and they had to vote as to whether or not a feasability study could be launched. THAT IS ALL THEY VOTED ON. I have been attending the city council meetings for the past 3 months and I heard what was said on the day, the city council voted to proceed with the study. We have until Nov 30th to file a petition of protest and that will put this issue to a Riverton City ballot vote. This is a Salt Lake County issue, not a city one. The county wanted us to become part of the UPD district, the county was to have sent the citizens the information about this proposal, not the city.  When I recieve the information about the petition of protest, I will post it on here.  Mayor Applegarth gave his personal cell phone number at the last city council meeting. It is 801-520-9947. False information is being spread, call the city and find out the truth. They are more than willing to tell you what is going on. You are also welcome to call me about this, as many have, but I wanted to put correct information out there, so you can read what I know, and what is really happening.
